DIY Grammar Symbol Template, Montessori materials At Home

Grammar Symbol Templates are used by your child to stencil grammar symbols over their corresponding words in sentences.

We made ours with a quilt template mylar sheet. You could use any medium weight plastic sheet.
I make quilts, so I had this piece left over.
I traced the symbols on paper and placed the mylar over top, and cut the shapes with a sharp exacto knife.

I have a larger set on the bottom, and a small set on top. You can separate the symbols, such that each can have their own template as well.
You can also print and laminate a template, and cut out the shapes.

This sheet has worked so well for us.
If you make one please let us know!

  1. I have some page dividers from my Creative Memories Consultant Days that are going to work perfectly. They are already hole punched so they can fit in the boys' binders. Repurposing is always better than buying something new.

  2. This is such a great idea. I am a Montessori lower elementary teacher and I am tired of ordering templates every year.
