I love this Silent "e" Object Box. This work is usually done during Green Series, but we found it helpful to work with silent 'e' now.
I found a video giving this lesson here. This video starts off with lots of great moveable alphabet lessons. I loved her lesson because it used an object box of "silent e" items and a clear plastic "e" you can buy clear moveable alphabet letters here, or you can get creative and make something similar. I printed black e's on transparency overhead paper in a font as close to my moveable alphabet as possible. I laminated the ink side for durability and cut them out. I put them in a clear labelled box to add interest.
The child matches the word cards to objects, and then spells the object names with the moveable alphabet using the transparent silent "e" very exciting!
This lesson is so simple, but so effective and fun!
