DIY Art Drying Rack, Kids Painting At Home

I thought I would share the way we dry our paintings and artwork at home.

I have a ceiling mounted drying rack in my laundry room. We have over 9 ft ceilings so this works well for us to retract drying clothes back up to ceiling height and out of the way!!
This also works amazingly well for the kids artwork!

Squirting paint on the tray was BIG fun 💕

We have lots of fun playing with paint!  I used a large baking dish for our paint tray today because it was big enough for all of the fun things we were working with.

We experimented with several different things today to make fun prints and patterns. We tried string, sponges, over sized stamps, brushes, rollers from our play dough kit, small paper plates, and of course tiny hands and fingers.

Creating mirror images was a big hit.

Great job guys!!

Happy painting!

  1. I do the same thing with a wall mounted drying rack. I like the ceiling version MUCH better.
