Montessori Layers of the Earth, Activities For Kids

In part 1 of our space unit we did do a layers of the earth puzzle.  These beautiful 3 part cards, control sheet and fact book are from Montessori Research and Development.  The set also come with an advanced set of definitions to label with as well.

Xander started with labelling, and then to reading and placing the definition cards.

Checking his work

Xander makes a version of just about everything in Lego 😃
So below is his version of the earth's layers.

This was a good video.  We watched many other videos on YouTube, including some about plate tectonics and volcanoes.
We have also watched an amazing show called ‘Down to the Earth’s Core’ - National Geographic

I cut out a very simple layers of the earth puzzle, for Xander to complete and label from craft foam sheets.

He used the labels from our MRD 3 part cards to label it.

Nice
