This work helps your child practice the parts of speech.
These are sentence strips that I purchased from Montessori Print Shop. You can also get a free version of these here. I really liked the MPS strips because there was a good number of them, and I liked the scale she used. I simply cut mine (did not laminate), and put them in labelled envelopes.
I took a selection of the strips, and put them in a mixed envelope for Xander to work on.
He labels them with his Grammar symbols box, and then writes them in his language journal.
I did simple line drawings of the symbols on the back in coloured pencil, and also the symbol of the envelope that each strip came from.
This was fun because Xander was making discoveries, and asking great questions. He was understanding that a word can become a different part of speech depending on context like "The water is blue." and "Water the plants."
I also created a PPP for basic review for our initial presentations of Grammar.
I am using the Montessori Research and Development Manuals as they list in great detail all of the materials for Grammar box work.
