The kids were given a scavenger hunt, with a pictorial list of items to find as they travelled through each room of the house. I love that they do this for the children in most Victoria museums!!
This is also a lovely short video bio for Emily Carr.
Poor Ava was most interested in "finding Emily??". She kept asking where she was?? :)
This house was such a pleasure to visit. The gardens were so pretty, and the house was just wonderful:)
My sister took this one of the original building exterior. Such a gorgeous house!!
The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria was very close by so we took the opportunity to take a good look. They had some incredible exhibits. Of course our main focus of the day was to take a look at some Emily Carr works.
Xander got a big kick out of "Elephant" her caravan.
This is a set of three part cards I made from our journey. I'd made some earlier, but the first page are now my photography from our vacation. I though I would share these with you:) The black line masters can be painted or coloured, the choice belongs to you. The painting name is included so that you can view the work either do a more literal translation or loosely base it on the original. It depends on completely on the child.
I found this amazing idea from this blog (scroll down the page), and absolutely LOVE the results!!
We also spent some time on Granville Island in Vancouver BC and were able to see the infamous Emily Carr School of Art.
