A Visit To San Francisco - Travelling The Pacific Coast With Kids Part 1

I am excited to share some of our journey travelling the Pacific Coast Highway 1. We flew into San Francisco and took the drive down to San Diego. We drove back to Anaheim to experience Minecon 2016. I will share images and stops with you from this amazing road trip!

 First Stop San Francisco...

This is a list of the stops we made! You can take tours, but if you check online there is a driving tour that you can do yourself (link below). This option was amazing for us! This meant that we could stop when we needed to, eat or linger in places that we wished a little more time.

Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Park
Cable Cars
Pier 39
Fisherman's Warf
Lombard Street (famous zig zag street)
The Painted Ladies

This was such an amazing city!! We landed and hit the road in our rental car. We headed to see the Golden Gate bridge, because it was the first thing Ava and Xander were hoping to see. We went to two different areas to view the Bridge, Golden Gate Overlook and Battery Cranston.

The Golden Gate Overlook

Our plane landed after lunch so this was the perfect first stop for us to roam, run explore and stretch out. The walk up to see the Bridge through this area was just beautiful!

Battery Cranston, A great view!

SOOOO windy!!

Fisherman's Warf, A great view of Alcatraz

Alcatraz , seen from The Fisherman's Warf

Lombard Street, We were able to drive down the entire street! This was unreal and so steep!

Taking a look around to see the famous Cable Cars and steep streets of San Francisco

Haight Street

The Painted Ladies

that we based much of our drive on.

I decided to create this series for our trip, because it was amazing and helpful to find resources for travelling the coast with children in mind.
I hope this will be helpful to you, and please feel free to post links to your travels with your children in the comments.                           We would love to hear from you!

See you in Part 2!

Thanks for visiting with us!
